Last week, I launched the Pragmatic Tech Execution Starter Pack. It’s my contribution to the scaling software community, complete with decision-making rubrics, execution playbooks, and hands-on exercises that help teams:
Focus on what matters and drive top issues to resolution quickly (Issue-Driven Execution toolkit)
Incorporate customer changes without derailing plans (Adaptive Change Control toolkit)
Deliver on-schedule with high quality, repeatably and sustainably (Designing Predictable Releases toolkit)
These are the three areas where even the most talented scaling engineering teams benefit from added structure. And these are the three areas I have honed techniques that support smart, driven teams who are ready to adopt what works.
I established the Issue-Driven Execution pillar when I was working on a high-stakes software project and have used in dozens of projects since then.
I architected Adaptive Change Control across many teams that needed to include customer requests without losing momentum.
And, I honed and refined Designing Predictable Releases so that we could repeatably deliver on-schedule while meeting our quality and feature goals.
If you’re curious to explore,
- The Starter Pack is available at:
- I also offer online courses for each of the pillars available at:
- If you want more personalized support, I provide Workshops for each of the pillars with in-person training as well as a brainstormed action plan on the topic.
- Or, for a tailor-made action plan, I offer two-week Advisory Sprints to assess your organization across each of the three Pragmatic Tech Execution pillars, define an action plan to address your biggest pain points, and train your team on one of the PTX pillars.
- For a self-assessment on whether your team may need help, use the PTX Health Assessment.
I’m excited to share these and continue this journey with scaling teams everywhere!
